CSA FAQ

  • What is a farm share or CSA?

CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture," also known as "farm shares." A CSA or farm share is a subscription to a farm for locally grown fresh produce. Our CSA members sign up in advance to receive a share of the harvest during our growing season. You will receive fresh seasonal produce, all grown organically on Hawk Ridge Farm.

  • Why is a CSA important?

CSA helps to bring farm-to-table food to local communities. Knowing where your food comes from and being a part of a local organic farm community will give you more confidence in the quality of your food. A CSA is the best way to support local farmers and feel connected to your local farm. It’s your share of the seasons harvest.

  • What goes into a typical share?

Harvest shares change with each season; we fill your box with fresh and ripe seasonal organic produce every week. A typical share is valued at $45 and is intended to be a weeks worth of fresh vegetables for a couple or small family. Below is an example of a share from early July; it includes Tomatoes, Zucchini with Blossoms, Shiitake Mushrooms, Lettuce, Snap Peas, Eggs, Basil, and Broccoli Microgreens, Thyme, and Chocolate Mint.

  • How do I sign up for a CSA/Farm Share?

Visit our CSA Subscriptions pages to select the harvest share that best suits you and your lifestyle. Sign-up is also available when you visit our farm.
